Making athletes
look legendary

I treat every post like a poster someone might hang on their wall.

I started MadeByBrew in 2021 as a high school basketball player. That work earned me a spot with Purdue Creative in my freshman year, where I designed every week for three-plus years. Now I'm the Graphic Specialist at NXTPRO Sports, and my work has helped push 64 million views in one season and more than 70,000 new followers across @nxtpro_hoops, @pro16league and @pro16girls.

// What I make

Art for every
moment of the season

Commit day, game day, the night a record falls. Each one deserves its own idea, and I try never to make the same graphic twice.

01

Commit & Ranking Posts

A kid's biggest day so far. I build the poster around the school they picked, or a template that makes every commit feel big.

02

Game-Day Posters

Matchups, player spotlights and record nights. I start with one idea and chase it with texture, type and light.

03

Logo Systems

Logos that mean something to the program, plus every color and version they'll need on a jersey or a feed.

04

Print & Season

Window wraps, signage, billboards and schedules. Seeing my work on the side of a building never gets old.

NXTPRO / Pro16

This is home base. At NXTPRO Sports, the PUMA-partnered league behind the NXTPRO and Pro16 circuits, I make everything from commit posts and motion graphics to building-size window wraps. After the 2026 season we rolled out a new visual identity for 2027, built on volt and violet, so you'll see both looks here. Tournament weekends are a sprint, and I love every minute of it.

Building-size window wraps from the 2026 season, before the 2027 rebrand, at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Richmond, Virginia, and the Pro16 Finals entrance in Bryan, Texas. I designed them to hit from the parking lot and still hold up when you're standing right next to the glass.

One layout for every player who commits out of the league. It lets me turn a commit around in minutes, and the whole feed feels like one collection.

The big ones get their own poster. I pull from each school's world: Houston's red halftone, a Texas Tech star map, Jacksonville's green arena.

Some of my favorite type work: hand-built chrome blackletter, with the schools lined up as the payoff.

Purdue Internship

I spent three-plus years in the design room at Purdue Athletics, working with coaches and staff across basketball, football, baseball and track & field. Player posters, record nights, game days, schedules and whatever else the season needed.

You only get two colors at Purdue, old gold and black, so I learned to get creative with everything else. Torn paper, gold chrome, wood grain, and a campus road that runs straight into Mackey.

TME Identity

A logo refresh for Tre Mann Elite, the Florida program represented by Tre Mann. When he joined the Washington Wizards, the program moved from Hornets teal and purple into Wizards navy, red and white. The crossbar of the T is cut into the shape of Florida. Built in Illustrator.

It started with a chip on my shoulder. Our team at Fishers High School was ranked #2 in the state, and nobody seemed to notice.

I'd spent years customizing jerseys and shoes on Nike's team builder and NIKEiD, and making graphics for school projects and for fun. So I asked my coach for Photoshop and the keys to the team's Instagram. I figured if no one else was going to hype us up, I would.

That's when it clicked. I'd always loved how the best sports graphics made players look larger than life, and I spent hours studying other designers' work. Now I was making it myself. MadeByBrew grew out of that.

I toured 20+ colleges planning to study finance or marketing, but I couldn't stop thinking about design. Purdue had the right program, so I added it to my application at the last second. Best decision I've made.

MadeByBrew earned me a spot with Purdue Creative in September of my freshman year. I designed there every week for more than three years, until I took a remote role with NXTPRO Sports in the middle of my senior year.

Headshot of Matt Brewer.

I want every athlete I design for to look larger than life. Real game photos, a little grit, and one idea pushed as far as it'll go.

Where I'm headed: I'm hungry to keep growing. Lately I've been diving into photography, video, editing and 3D, because I want to understand every piece of the creative process. One day I want to be a creative director and shape how a whole team or brand looks and feels.
